Origins: Heir to the Wayne family fortune and business, young Athena’s world was turned upside down when, as a teen coming back from her first summer volunteering at an archaeological dig, she witnessed her parents being gunned down by a petty criminal. This tragedy drove her to cut herself off from the world and, in the end, running away from Gotham, travelling the world to find the ways to stop what happened to her happening to anyone else.

In Japan she learned martial arts and technical knowledge, in tibet she learned meditation and calmness of thought, and in Greece she found the temple to the Goddess of wisdom. She trained there for years, honing her mind and body until she was visited by the Goddess herself. She was granted the wisdom of Athena and named as her champion.

Returning to Gotham, Athena forged an identity for herself as the Dark Owl, an avenger of the innocent and enemy to the corruption upon the streets. The city feared the criminals, now the criminals fear her.
